The homepage for Sean Welsh’s Shortwave Radio Listening and Amateur Radio hobby site.

Welcome to the home page of Sean Welsh, VE3OZ. I have been a licensed Amateur Radio operator since 1992 (VE3TVJ), however my interest in electronics and shortwave radio listening dates back to the early 1970's. My current interests are in monitoring shortwave broadcast and military HF frequencies, scanning public service frequencies, operating on 80, 20 and 17 m, and general SWL’ing. I am a member of The American Radio Relay League ,
The National Radio Club, National Shortwave Radio Association, and the Ontario DX Association.
I can usually be found on 80 and 40 meters during the weekends, hanging out on 17m or chasing a little bit of DX on 20. I am working on getting my “fist” back and have been plodding my way around the “novice” portion of 40m and 15m as well.
My station is located 7.5 km west of Orangeville, Ontario in the historic “ghost town” of The Maples, in the township of East Garafraxa. My tower resides at 1500’ ASL in Grid Square EN93wv.
